The Quality Support Unit (QSU) operates independently of the program
department to insure objective and comprehensive program and department
audits, outcomes measurement, tracking of unusual incidents, and
satisfaction surveys of persons served, their families, and all
agency staff. In addition to auditing, the Unit provides training
and support services to staff to ensure that programs exceed agency
and governmental standards. This enables the unit to identify opportunities
to improve the quality of our services. For more information contact
Donna Clinger, Vice President of Quality Support at dclinger@alternativesinc.org.

Surveys - Throughout the year
QSU conducts a variety of surveys. The survey data collected is
analyzed and compiled into summary reports, which are then presented
to the agency’s Quality Council; comprised of management,
direct care and support staff, persons who receive services, and
members of the Board of Trustees. The Quality Council uses the reports
to develop an annual quality improvement plan to outline agency
goals that assist in improving services.
>> Training - QSU continually works to improve the quality of our existing agency trainings as well as identifying new training needs. Training modules are designed based on those needs. The audits and surveys which are completed are analyzed to identify any recurring issues and other opportunities to improve services. QSU staff maintain a strong presence at all program sites and are readily available to give immediate advice and assistance to all agency staff. It is this type of additional support that enables Alternatives, Inc. to minimize staff turnover and maintain a stable, caring, and supportive home environment for the individuals we serve. |
