Recreation staff provides event planning and travel preparation for Alternatives’ clients and other people with disabilities through S.T.A.R.S. (Specialized Trips And Recreation Services). A wide range of safe and affordable opportunities and events are offered to accommodate varying interests, ages and needs according to the clients’ requests and client surveys.

A fully packed calendar of events is tailored for Alternatives’ clients and others with special needs looking for social opportunities. Activities/trips have included: agency picnics, holiday dinners, museums, spring semi-formal, lunch/dinner cruises, coffeehouses, Six Flags and Dorney Park, trips to Niagara Falls, Ocean City, Maryland, the Jersey Shore and other locations.
